A Festive Spirit of Fun

Manila festivals and events represent the rich and diverse social, religious and communal facets of the city’s people. Christmas and the Chinese New Year are two prime celebrations. Caracol (last Sunday of January) combines the three major ethnic festivals of the country and is the official festival of Makati. February is National Arts Month, an important annual arts festival that takes place at various venues. The Manila Film Festival, in June gives visitors a chance to see their favorite stars. Fete de la Musique de Manila, also in June, is a music festival featuring bands performing more than sixty locations. May’s Flores de Mayo is one of the biggest processions in Metro Manila.
